Lemon Tree Volkamer with orange-colored fruits

Citrus volkameriana, the orange lemon or Volkamer lemon, gives fruits resembling small oranges, but is used like a lemon!
It is also called Citrus limonia. It is a cross between a bitter orange and a citron.

Bag of 12 Volkameriana Lemon Seeds.

Citrus volkameriana is a rootstock widely used as a rootstock for other citrus varieties. Very vigorous, it has strong resistance to citrus diseases such as the Trèsza virus. Fast growth, hardy up to -7°C.

Its foliage is evergreen, dark green, shiny, vigorous. Its branches are stiff, thorny and its shape is spreading.

Flowering in March-April, white flowers discreetly tinged with orange pink, the fruits are harvested at the end of winter and in spring.
Their skin is thick orange when ripe. Juicy, sweet and tangy flesh. Very aromatic zest, extraordinary for flavoring various preparations, desserts, marmalades...
